Family Context and ADHD Symptoms in Middle Childhood: an Explanatory Model

Abstract Recent research suggests that Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) may be influenced by interactions between the individual and their social context. This study examined predictive value of family context variables attentional control levels on child ADHD symptoms. A new explanatory model relationship amongst these was also tested. sample 754 families with children aged 7 to 11 assessed through Conners Parent Rating Scale, Haezi-Etxadi Family Assessment Network Test. Path analysis models showed a association symptoms Social Support Network, Parental Stress, Self-efficacy, Attentional Control being male. Furthermore, stronger associated greater variable predicted Stress In conclusion, multi-influence linked symptomatology during mid-childhood is provided, which useful support design interventions.
